Roger Federer is the essence of tennis, says junior champion

In an interview the Australian Open junior champion Lorenzo Musetti shared his admiration for Roger Federer. The Italian player considers the Swiss as an idol. "He represents the essency of tennis, especially for his elegance", said Musetti.

The Italian commented on his father's influence: "It's because of my father that I got to those levels. He put me the racket in my hand at five years of age. He is a fan and tennis lover. My grandmother had a big room to play tennis in and that's where I understood that I had to do it."

Musetti's father, Francesco, said: "The sacrifices that a family that decides to make his son train seriously needs to do are really many, it takes a lot of time for travels. From our birthplace, the training base is more or less near, it's 40 kilometres, but it always takes an hour to go there all the days. Then there are tournaments, he needs to study too, the life changes and tennis becomes a priority."
