Roger Federer: There are still so many things to achieve
Roger Federer would love to conquer his ninth Wimbledon title this year. The Swiss player starts as one of the favorites there and in an interview, he said: "What's the point of winning another Wimbledon?
Well, that's exactly the point, I want to be there holding up the trophy and going through goosebumps before a match point and trying to show how good I still am for my team, country, myself... I am physically in really good shape today, I feel better than I have had in a few years. There is still so many things to achieve. The problems of pressure or people when you achieve a lot when I have or when I finally won the French Open and I finally broke the all-time Grand Slam record, some of the media think, 'What else is there to achieve.' Well, there is always a lot more to do and something that you can enjoy. So for me there is no reason to think about how it's gonna all happen because the moment you start asking yourself those questions, that means the end is near in my opinion. The body, my family will tell me, will decide when it's time to hang up the racket but for the time being I really enjoy it so much. My wife loves to travel, my family, my kids do not have an issue with my travelling so far and we will look at all the signs we will get from all my family and friends to see what's right and wrong in the future."
Federer recently won his 101st title in Miami, defeating John Isner in the final. For the first time since 2016, he will also be playing the clay season in 2019.
