Felix Auger-Aliassime, Joao Sousa withdraw from Marrakech
Rising Canadian star Felix Auger-Aliassime won't be opening his clay-court season in Marrakech as he has pulled out of the tournament.
Auger-Aliassime, 18, has no previous appearances at the Morrocan ATP 250 clay-court event.
The Canadian planned to play in the opening week of the clay-court season but changed his mind after two good campaigns at the opening two Masters 1000 events of the season.
The 18-year-old made the Indian Wells Masters third round before he made his maiden Masters 1000 semi-final at the Miami Masters.
Auger-Aliassime made the Miami semi-final as a qualifier before he lost to home-favorite John Isner.
Meanwhile, Portuguese tennis star Joao Sousa has also withdrawn from Marrakech.
The 30-year-old has played in Marrakech three times so far in his career.
The Portuguese made the Marrakech round-of-16 in 2016 before he made the semi-final at the tournament a year ago.
Last year, Sousa made the semi-final before he suffered a loss against eventual champion Pablo Andujar.
Auger-Aliassime and Sousa are set to be replaced in the Marrakech main draw by Serb Filip Krajinovic and Italia's Thomas Fabbiano.
Krajinovic, 27, is set for a Marrakech debut as he has no previous appearances at the tournament.
On the other side, 29-year-old Fabbiano is set for back-to-back Marrakech appearances.
The Italian debuted at the Marrakech event last year when he suffered a first round loss to French Richard Gasquet.
The Marrakech event is due to be held from April 08-14.
