Roger Federer's 2019 is already amazing and he can still improve his spoils

Roger Federer put a decisive mark in these first four months of 2019, after the victory at the Miami Open against John Isner, his 28th Masters 1000. He also obtained, before the win in Florida, the 100th career title at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, with the vindictive victory against Stefanos Tsitsipas. A very important success, which the Swiss absolutely wanted to achieve, before it became a chimera.

Wa have also to say he wasted two important chances in the previous months. Federer played four tournaments till March 31st: he won two events he won the other two. The Defeat at the Australian Open and in the final of Indian Wells were a wasted good chances of victory, but, overall, his spoils are very good in this first part of the season. 37He was still able to amaze the world, especially crowds, fans media and insiders, at 37 years-old.

In Melbourne he left the scene in the fourth round, just against Stefanos Tsitsipas, after having wasted many break points and many chances to reach the quarter-finals. After the victory at Dubai, he was also a great protagonist at Indian Wells, the first Masters 1000 of the season, where he reached his 9th final, losing incredibly against Diminic Thiem, despite the Swiss Maestro winning the first set.

After the Miami Open, Federer will return to play on the clay courts, after more than two years. Probably he will play the French Open and the Mutua Madrid Open (Madrid much more likely than Rome), but, as a has always historically happened in his career, his efforts will be concentrated between mid-June and October, from the beginning of the grass swing to the Autumn on the indoor hard courts, where he will have many chances to increase his victories.

Considering the first three months of 2019, his season started in a very positive way, but the feeling is that he could have achieved even more important successes than he got in this first part of the season, especially in California, with all his biggest rivals out in the previous rounds and with him in advantage of a set in the final. Of course, the victory in Dubai and Miami are other important goals in his legendary career.
