Serena Williams Shares Details of Her Own Private Investment Firm

Tennis - Former World No. 1 Serena Williams has publicly shared details of her own investment firm called Serena Ventures for the first time in an Instagram post on Wednesday. The firm has been investing in companies since 2014 and has picked up investments in more than 30 companies as of now, according to Business Insider.

In her post on Instagram, Williams says she launched the fund with the mission of giving opportunities to founders across an array of industries. Serena Ventures invests in companies that embrace diverse leadership, individual empowerment, creativity and opportunity. 

According to the company's website, the company has Alison Rapaport as its Vice President. Alison, who is a former asset manager at JP Morgan, oversees the fund's portfolio and new investments. The firm has investments in several industries including food, health and wellness, e-commerce and fashion. Some of the companies in which the fund has already invested in include coworking startup The Wing, razor brand Billie, meal delivery services Daily Harvest and Gobble; online course provider MasterClass; in-home connected fitness company Tonal; and tampon subscription service LOLA.
