Casper Ruud: I won't tell you the exact advice Rafael Nadal gives me
In an interview to Punto de Break, Casper Ruud commented on his training sessions at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca. The Next Gen player said: "There it's my training centre and they have everything a young player needs to build his game and get to the top. They take care of me a lot. I have been there since September and I am very happy with the results and the improvement that I am having with them. Apart from my father, I also travel with two coaches of the Academy, Tomeu Salvá and Pedro Clar."
"It's very hard but funny sometimes. When you play against him on clay he can give you many good pieces of advice. Despite he is able to destroy you by playing, it's a great experience that you need for the future. He is a veteran but he is not very old, he trains very hard and he gives everything on the court."
Asked if Nadal gives him advice, Ruud replied: "Yeah, sometimes. I think even he enjoys seeing players of his Academy doing well on Tour. He is interested in seeing what we do and with his team he gives us suggestions about what we should do and what we should focus on. I will not tell you everything he says, I keep it for myself," said Ruud.
The Roger Federer effect could be seen right away in Paris. 34,610 people attended the first day of the main draw tournament setting a record attendance on the first Sunday. The 2008 record, when 31,791 people attended, was broken.
