Guido Pella to marry girlfriend Stephanie Demner
Things are doing great for Guido Pella.
Defeating Chile’s talent Cristian Garin in the ATP 250 Sao Paolo final this March allowed the Argentinian to earn the first ATP title of his career. He has collected wins against five top 20 players during what goes of 2019, and he has jumped from being World No. 66 at the beginning of the season to being World No. 22 the week before Roland Garros.
The 29-years-old has reached the quarter-finals of the Monte Carlo Master 1000 and Barcelona Open, and he is the player with most 2019 ATP victories on clay court, with a total of 20 matches won for nine tournaments played—trailing behind him is Garin, with 18 for 8, and Rafael Nadal, with 14 for 4.
Yet, the 29-years-old felt like adding the cherry on top of it all: on a break before the French Open, where he has high hopes of doing well, Pella has proposed to the model and entrepreneur Stephanie Demner, his girlfriend of one year.
"When I thought everything was perfect between us, once again you showed me that it could be even better, I hope I never wake up from this beautiful dream that is to live life with you, I love you more every day. And more than a thousand times yes, I accept. We’re getting married," shared the influencer on her Instagram, in a post that pictured the happy couple in Disneyland Paris.
Pella hence joins Rafael Nadal and Sloane Stephens in the ranks of tennis stars who have announced their engagement this year.
