Rafael Nadal shares the secret behind his, Federer and Djokovic longevity

Rafael Nadal recently attended an event held by his longtime sponsor Mapfre in Madrid. The Spaniard reflected on the concept of consistency "I am grateful for all the kindness and support that Mapfre gave me the whole time. I am one who believes in the long term projects and who appreciates the personal relationships being surrounded by trustable people. Everyone is going through an evolution and tennis as well. The only reason why players like Federer, Djokovic and me keep being at the top after a long time is an ongoing evolution. You obviously lose things along the way, like the physical strength, but you replace it adding things that allow you to keep aiming at achieving big things. One of the reasons is the love and passion for what we do, so we are able to work on a daily basis", said the world No. 2.

Asked about his physical talent and mental privilege, Nadal added: "The myth of body and mind is okay, but if the ball does not go strong and close to the baseline you do not get to the first position or winning Grand Slams. I was lucky to use the talent that nature gave me, but not everyone can."

On the future of Spanish tennis, Nadal concluded: "Spain is power in tennis and I am sure that it will keep being it because it has the right conditions: academies, coaches, sponsors... Carlos Alcaraz is very good and hopefully, he keeps improving; Jaume Munar is in Mallorca training with us and you have to keep him in count."

Does Nadal have plans to innovate his game? "I cannot be thinking about things all the time, but there is always something you have to evolve in."
