Roger Federer is like a kid waiting for first school trip - Trainer

In an interview to Blick the Roger Federer's fitness trainer Pierre Paganini commented on the Swiss player's preparation to the clay season. Asked if he can safely say that they are doing a great job, Paganini replied: "It's too soon to tell it. We will only know it when the first results will come. But we started well, it's nice to see Roger's excitement on clay. Like a kid who is waiting for his first school trip. This adrenaline has a big impact on the quality of a training session. But this is what always happens, not only now because it's clay. That's why I think he can still great results on any surface. He goes to every tournament like if it was the first and last ones."

Meanwhile this week Alexander Zverev headed into the BMW Open tournament in Munich without his two coaches, father Alexander Sr., who is in a hospital in Hamburg and should be back on track in early May, and the eight-time Grand Slam winner Ivan Lendl. That's why this week Zverev is helped by Sergej Bubka junior, the son of the 1888 Olympic champion.
