Roger Federer's mother starts new project involving young people

Roger Federer started his clay season in Madrid but his mother Lynette is not with him. She is involved in a new project for the new generations in Switzerland. "Hopp-la" is the name of the national protect and it aims to help younger and older people through modern weapons. "The choice of this initiative, I find that tremendous", said Lynette. "I think it's a great idea that older people can now join the crew and not just sit."

As a grandmother of six nephews, the 67-year-old is a new member of the Council of Hopp-la Foundation and was named as the "grandmother of the country". "What a bit of luck it was", said the founder Martin Bisang, a famous banker. "We have to fight against the fact that kids' weight increases and older people stay on the sofa. Lynette helps with all her heart."

As a young mother, Lynette was trying to make her children enjoy fun time due to lack of courts. "I would have liked a Hopp-la-Park like this for Roger. Back in the day, they went in the woods or they were playing squash and table tennis."

Meanwhile, Federer commented on David Ferrer's retirement from tennis: "He has all the respect from my side. He doesn't need to prove himself anymore. And I just wish him all the very best for what is to come with his family and his future."

Lynette will definitely be in the French Open with her husband Robert supporting their son who plays there for the first time since 2015.
