Week 20: Serena Williams comes back to Rome!

The clay swing is reaching its climax and, after the Mutua Madrid Open, this week it's time for the Internazionali BNL d'Italia, in Rome, an ATP/WTA combined event.

As for the men's singles, it will be the fifth ATP Masters 1000 of the season, the third on clay courts. Entry list full of top players; Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem, Alexander Zverev, Stan Wawrinka, Kei Nishikori, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Gael Monfils, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Fabio Fognini and Roger Federer. The presence of the Swiss in Rome was in doubt until the very end, until Federer himself confirmed he would be taking part in the Italian event. Kevin Anderson, Milos Raonic, John Isner and Tomas Berdych will, on the other hand, not play in the Italian capital.

As for the women's singles, WTA Premier 5, all eyes are on Serena Williams' come back on the court. The US player will play after a few weeks of training and rest. With her, Naomi Osaka, Simona Halep, Petra Kvitova, Caroline Wozniacki, Kiki Bertens, Belinda Bencic, Garbine Muguruza, Venus Williams and Victoria Azarenka. Out Angelique Kerber, Maria Sharapova and the young Bianca Andreescu, who recently confirmed she will be playing at the Roland Garros.

There will also be four ATP Challengers: Heilbronner Neckarcup (Heilbronn, in Germany, on clay courts), Lisboa Belém Open (Lisbon, Portugal, on clay courts), Gwangju Open (Gwangju, in South Korea, on hard courts), Samarkand Challenger (Samarkand, in Uzbekistan, on clay courts).
