Stomach problems force Martin Klizan to pull out late from Lyon

Slovakia's Martin Klizan has withdrawn late from Lyon as he was scheduled to play his opening match at the tournament on Monday morning.

The Slovak was forced to pull out from the tournament just before his match due to stomach problems.

Klizan, ranked at No. 54 in the world, was expected to make his debut on the clay of Lyon this week.

Klizan was drawn to meet American Steve Johnson in the Lyon first round.

If nothing goes wrong, the Slovak will make his eighth consecutive main draw appearance at Roland Garros.

The 29-year-old best result at the French Open came in 2014, when he made the third round.

World No. 48 Kukushkin was due to meet rising Italian star Jannik Sinner in the first round but was unable to play due to a right shoulder pain.

Kukushkin made the quarter-final in his Lyon debut a hear ago.
