Victoria Azarenka to debut for Orange County Breakers on July 20

The 44th edition of the World TeamTennis will kick off on July 14, with two new teams joining the action that leads to the WTT Finals on August 3 at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Orlando Storm, based at USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, Florida and Vegas Rollers who will play at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas are the newest editions to the competition that have brought some of the world's leading players since the foundation in 1974. Using the unique multi-colored court, WTT was the first professional sports league to feature men and women on the same team, all under the close guidance of Billie Jean King, one of the greatest players of all time and WTA trailblazer.

Held at Indian Wells Tennis Garden back on March 22, the 2019 WTT draft had gathered some of the biggest tennis stars have signed to play WTT this summer, including Venus Williams, Victoria Azarenka, John Isner, Sam Querrey, Bob and Mie Bryan, Marta Kostyuk, Taylor Fritz, Miomir Kecmanovic, Frances Tiafoe and Nick Kyrgios! Orange County Breakers have signed Victoria Azarenka, Steve Johnson, Luke Bambridge, Nicole Gibbs, Andreja Klepac and James Ward, with the biggest star Azarenka confirming she will compete against San Diego Aviators at Breakers Stadium at Palisades Tennis Club on July 20.

Aviators will go with Taylor Fritz that day and they are yet to announce who will fight against the two-time Australian Open champion and a former world no. 1 Azarenka. Victoria is yet to improve on the WTA list in 2019 after a slow start and early round exits, raising her form recently to advance into the final in Monterrey and the quarters in Stuttgart. Her World TeamTennis debut came at the age of 16 in 2006 (female rookie of the year award), playing again in 2010 and 2014, returning to action after a five-year break.
