Borna Coric joins star-studded St. Petersburg player field
World No. 14 Borna Coric, former world No. 10 Pablo Carreno Busta and rising Serbian star Miomir Kecmanovic have all signed up to play the St. Petersburg Open.
Coric, 22, debuted at the St. Petersburg event in 2017.
The Croatian didn't have a memorable St. Petersburg debut as he suffered a first round defeat at the hands of German Jan-Lennard Struff.
On the other side, Carreno Busta and Kecmanovic are both set for a St. Petersburg debut as they have no previous appearances at the event.
Carreno Busta, who has plummeted to No. 47 in the world, isn't enjoying a great season but he still a notable player signing for the St. Petersburg organizers.
Kecmanovic, 19, is enjoying a breakthrough season on the tour and he will certainly be aiming to perform well during the indoor-hard court swing and finish his season in good spirits.
The Serb made the Indian Wells Masters quarterfinal as a qualifier before he recently finished runner up at the Antalya Open in his maiden ATP final.
Dominic Thiem, Stan Wawrinka, Karen Khachanov and Daniil Medvedev are also expected to play in St.Petersburg.
The St. Petersburg Open will take place from September 16-22.
