Dominic Thiem in great spirits as he aims to make splash in Hamburg

Austrian tennis star Dominic Thiem is happy and satisfied with his week so far in Hamburg.

Thiem, seeded at No. 1, beat Hungary's Marton Fucsovics 7-5 6-1 to progress into the Hamburg round-of-16.

The Austrian hasn't yet lost a set in Hamburg this week as he kicked off his campaign with a straight-set over clay-court specialist Pablo Cuevas.

"I'm going off the court with a good feeling. Beat two very good opponets so far this week," Thiem said after beating Fucsovics, as revealed by Jose Morgado on Twitter.

Fucsovics failed to convert a break point in the opening game of the match but also saved a break point in the following game.

Thiem kept pressing but Fucsovics saved four break points in the fourth game and one more in the sixth game before he saved a set point in the 10th game.

Thiem struggled with Fucsovics' resilience for the majority of the first set but then won seven games in a row to take a comfortable 7-5 5-0 lead.

Fucsovics served out the sixth game to avoid a bagel but Thiem routinely served out for the match in the following game.

World No. 4 Thiem plays next against Andrey Rublev.

"Looking forward to 'Rublo'. He is a great player," Thiem insisted.
