Mats Wilander: Ugo Humbert has different mindset from other French players
Eurosport pundit Mats Wilander has praised rising French star Ugo Humbert .
The 21-year-old is enjoying a breakthrough season on the tour.
"He has different mindset from other French players which means more loving the competition," Wilander said of Humbert, per Twitter user Oleg S.
At the beginning of the season in February, Humbert won the Cherbourg Challenge before he made his maiden ATP semifinal in Marseille.
Recently, Humbert impressed in his maiden Wimbledon appearance.
The Frenchman stunned former world No. 6 Gael Monfils in his first-ever match at Wimbledon.
The 21-year-old then beat Marcel Granollers before he claimed a shock straight-set win over world No. 21 Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Humbert's Wimbledon campaign came to an end in the round-of-16 after losing to eventual champion Novak Djokovic.
Humbert also impressed in his maiden Newport appearance as he made the semifinal before losing to 2018 Wimbledon semifinalist John Isner.
Humbert, who is enjoying a career-high ranking of No. 48 in the world, is set to achieve a new career-high ranking when the ATP list gets updated on Monday.
