Novak Djokovic's coach is one of the least appreciated, says Hrbaty

In an interview the former world No. 12 Dominic Hrbaty spoke about Marian Vajda's influence on Novak Djokovic's success. The Slovakia's was asked how much of percentage Vajda covers on the Serb's success: "I cannot say that percentage, but coaches play an enormous role in a player's development. A good coach is not just good in good times but in tough times too. He gives him confidence, he prepares him for every match from a tactical point of view, mentally and physically. Tennis players often feel alone. If they have a good team around they can make a big difference in terms of performances. Everything is up to the player because he has to deal with pressure."

"I think Marian Vajda is one of the least appreciated coaches in history", recognized Hrbaty. "He did an enormous work with Djokovic. They split each other for a year and when Marian was there again, Novak played at his best. Vajda is the key to make Djokovic emotionally balanced and totally focused on court. If I continued my career and I had the chance to hire Vajda, I would immediately hire him. He would be at the top on the list of coaches. He develops a great tactics and from the beginning of their co-operation, Djokovic fixed many things. You can tell that it was Vajda's credit."

Djokovic is enjoying holidays with his wife Jelena and their two children in Croatia. Novak will soon be back to train probably in Monte Carlo.
