Roger Federer had majestic tactics, but Novak Djokovic was a warrior -Hrbaty

In an interview the former world No. 12 Dominic Hrbaty commented on Novak Djokovic's Wimbledon final win over Roger Federer. Hrbaty said: "Me and Roger grew up together but I love a lot Nole, he is very friendly, and his coach Marian Vajda is a good friend of mine. Roger delivered a majestic tactic, showing a great maturity. Novak showed an enormous mental potential, he was like a warrior, he had mental breaks especially in the second set and end of the fourth, but he has won."

On Djokovic, Federer and Rafael Nadal conquering all the Grand Slam titles, Hrbaty added: "It's a very strong generation, their advantage is that they can hide their weaknesses, which is why they are still successful in the Grand Slams. It can also be given by the fact that the current generation is sleeping. However, the younger players will start winning Grand Slams in the next two or three years. Big improvements were made by the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime and also his compatriot Denis Shapovalov."

In an interview to sport.sk, Novak Djokovic' longtime coach Marian Vajda shared how the Serbian player managed to deal with the Wimbledon crowd supporting Roger Federer in the final. "Everyone, including me, understood he had to stay calm. Fans supported Federer in a massive way. If he started arguing with fans, he could not have won. They were not against him but were simply cheering Roger, their favorite player. There were Serbians too in the crowd, even if in a minor part", said Vajda.
