Only Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal can beat Roger Federer - Cash
The former world no. 4 Pat Cash feels confident about Roger Federer's chances to win a Grand Slam title again despite his loss to Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final. The Australian said: "I think the only players that can really beat him right now are Novak and Rafa [Nadal]. On an even playing field without any injuries I don’t think Nadal can beat Roger here at Wimbledon. He’s just too negative in returning positioning to expect to beat Roger. At Wimbledon, I think it’s between two players and that’s the two we saw in the final. So yes, I think Roger can win more, and Wimbledon seems the likeliest location. I hope it haunts Roger, I think it absolutely will haunt him. You could see he wasn’t happy at all at the end but there wasn’t anything to separate him and Novak in that match."
Cash believes Djokovic can break Federer's 20 Grand Slam titles record: “If Novak had lost the match, I would have said he no longer had a chance of catching Roger in the record books but, from this position, you’d say it’s now very possible.”
Federer shared his thoughts on the 12-all tie-break rule: "It is what it is. I respect whatever the rule is. You play with it. I don’t know if I was looking forward to it or not. I was feeling good about either scenario. Yeah, so really it is what it is, you know. I know what I did well, how close I was. I think I can be happy about my performance."
