'Federer has fewer chances than Djokovic and Nadal to win more titles'
Roberto Bautista Agut spoke to El Confidencial about Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic dominance. The Spaniard said: "To beat those players in five sets and in a Grand Slam it's more difficult than beating in any other tournament. He is a very tough opponent on grass, he moves well. It's difficult to take him out of the court and he has been handling the pressure well. He is amazing, like Roger and Rafa. For me, it was the first Grand Slam semifinal and I noticed it a bit. I think Federer, for his age, is the one who has fewer chances to keep increasing his achievements. Rafa is closer to the Serb for age and he was also able to suit to all surfaces."
On his success in Dubai last year, Bautista Agut added: "I wanted to win an ATP 500 and in the end, I conquered the title. It was a barrier I needed to go through. I have a tactic that makes me perform well on all surfaces. It's a plan based on consistency, a game of a few mistakes. I have to continue."
Bautista has some regrets about the French Open: "In Paris, I could not perform at my highest level for circumstances that are not about tennis. I had done well throughout the clay-season, training at my best, but for some things or others, I did not take the next step. The good thing is that I kept working and when the opportunity came, like it happened in Wimbledon, I was prepared to take it."
