Matteo Viola reacts to stunning Andy Murray at Rafa Nadal Open
Italian tennis player Matteo Viola didn't hide his happiness after claiming the biggest win of his career against former world No. 1 Andy Murray at the Rafa Nadal Open.
Viola, ranked at No. 240 in the world, stunned three-time Grand Slam champion Murray 3-6 6-4 7-6 (3) to reach the Mallorca Challenger quarterfinal.
"I feel unbelievably happy for all the practices every day and (for) trying to believe again in my game. So, I'm very happy for this win, for sure," former world No. 118 Viola said during his on-court interview after beating Murray.
Murray, 32, blew the first break he earned in the second game of the match but managed to hold on to his serve for the rest of the first set after claiming the second break in the fourth game.
The Briton twice recovered from a break down in the second set but fell short in his attempt to steal the set after failing to serve out the 10th game to stay in the set.
Viola blew an early third-set break but kept his focus as he cruised past the tie-break to complete a huge win.
