Pablo Cuevas out of Rogers Cup, main draw place opens for Grigor Dimitrov
Uruguay's Pablo Cuevas has withdrawn from the Rogers Cup in Montreal.
As many times in his career, the 33-year-old has once again decided not to play at the Rogers Cup.
Cuevas, ranked at No. 53 in the world, has played only once at the Rogers Cup so far in his career.
The Uruguayan debuted at the Rogers Cup in 2015, when he suffered a first round exit at the Montreal Masters.
Following the withdrawal of Cuevas, a place in the Montreal main draw has opened for former world No. 3 Grigor Dimitrov.
Dimitrov, the 2017 Nitto ATP Finals champion, won't be highlighting the Montreal qualifying event.
The Bulgarian isn't enjoying a great season as he has plummeted to No. 57 in the world.
Still, Dimitrov has managed to sneak into the Montreal main draw as he is set to make his seventh appearance at the Rogers Cup.
The 28-year-old's best result at the Rogers Cup came in 2014, when he made the Toronto Masters semifinal before losing to eventual champion Jo Wilfried Tsonga.
The Rogers Cup in Montreal will take place from August 05-11.
