Taylor Fritz extremely happy with his form and level of play
Rising American star Taylor Fritz is happy with his form and level of play as he has been through to his maiden Los Cabos semifinal.
Fritz, who ended runner-up in Atlanta last week, has continued his fine form this week on the hard courts of Los Cabos.
After beating qualifier Dominic Koepfer and Indian Prajnesh Gunneswaran, the fifth-seeded American saw off defending champion and No. 1 seed Fabio Fognini in straight sets 6-1 7-6 (1) to reach the Los Cabos semifinal.
"I think I’m playing my best tennis. I’ve found a level of consistency where it’s still pretty high even when I’m not playing my best,” Fritz said post-match, as revealed on the ATP website. “This is what I train for. All the stuff I do in the gym and on the practice court is way harder than anything that could be replicated in a match."
Next up for world No. 28 Fritz will be No. 7 seed Radu Albot, who handed a straight-set defeat to 2017 Los Cabos runner-up Thanasi Kokkinakis to progress into his first semifinal at the Mexican event.
