Playing with Rafael Nadal was one of most embarassing experiences - Stiller
The American singer Ben Stiller spoke about his passion for tennis and his connection with Rafael Nadal. Stiller said: "I attempted to play. I started very late, maybe nine years ago. I grew up in a tennis family. Four years ago Rafa pulled me out on the court at the Madison Square Garden with Juan Martin del Potro and it was one of the most embarassing experiences in my life. They just schooled me. And I started taking lessons in order to eventually show up one day there again."
Stiller loves the fourth calendar Grand Slam of the season and he explained why: "It's fun to go on the smaller courts earlier on in the tournament, you can see the best players in the world up close. That's one of the best things to do, seeing different matches happening, the practice courts. It's great when you are in New York. This is such a great event. It's fun", he admitted.
What makes the US Open so special? Nadal, speaking to Eurosport on Saturday, answered: "It's the loudest central court in the world. It gives you a different energy. It's a passionate crowd. I always had a great connection with them, played great matches. Thank to all these people I had unforgettable moments. Without them, it would be very different."
Nadal will be back to compete on Monday when he faces the Croatian player and 2014 US Open champion Marin Cilic.
