ATP Finals - DRAW: Roger Federer vs. Novak Djokovic. Nadal meets youth

The ATP Finals will kick off on Sunday in London, with eight players ready to chase 1500 points and one of the most prestigious titles in the sport. The defending champion Alexander Zverev was the seventh player to book the place in London and he was there to lead the draw ceremony, with groups Andre Agassi and Bjorn Borg ready to receive four players each ahead of three round-robin rounds. World no. 1 Rafael Nadal should lead Andre Agassi Group if he decides to play, suffering an injury in Paris and withdrawing before the semi-final clash against Denis Shapovalov. Rafa never won the ATP Finals and needs a good result to stay ahead of Novak Djokovic in the ATP Race, having 640 points advantage at the moment.

Nadal will face the young guns in the battle for the semi-final, with the defending champion Alexander Zverev, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Daniil Medvedev who stand between him and the place in the last four. As we already said, Zverev had a mediocre season for his standards set in the previous two years but did enough to qualify for the third straight year and at least get the opportunity to try and defend the crown. Tsitsipas had some significant victories in 2019, toppling all three players from the top-3 and hoping for more of the same on the ATP Finals debut.

World no. 4 Daniil Medvedev also makes the first appearance in London, rattling off an incredible streak after Wimbledon to reach six straight finals and claim two Masters 1000 trophies, together with the US Open final he lost to Nadal after an epic battle. In Bjorn Borg Group, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer lead the charge, winning 11 titles combined at this event and hoping to reach the semis against Dominic Thiem and Matteo Berrettini, the third debutant in London this year.
