Diego Schwartzman: 'You never stop admiring Roger Federer, Nadal, Djokovic'
Diego Schwartzman praised Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Speaking to Fox, the Argentinean player said: "You never stop admiring them."
Schwartzman also spoke about the new Davis Cup format that will feature the Chilean team: "Until some years ago you did not think that Chile could be in the draw and now they have Garin and Jarry, who are playing very well, among the top 40-50 guys. Garin reached the Paris quarter-finals, he had a great tournament. Chile will be very tough."
Schwartzman finally commented on his Vienna final loss to Dominic Thiem: "I am very happy because I have got the confidence again. I felt very good on court. The support of the people was crazy. It was really nice and real for me. In another place, really far from home, I felt really nice. After the first set, he played so aggressive. He was better than me and that is why he won the title."
Nadal's coach Carlos Moya spoke about the Spanish player's physical condition heading into the ATP Finals after dealing with an abdominal issue. Moya said: “We arrived yesterday in London and trained at Queen’s. Today was our first practice session at The O2 and it went well. We’re going step by step. We’re cautious but we also know that we have four days ahead of us. Today was the first time that Rafa has served since we left Paris. He didn’t put a lot of power today. His evolution is going fine. He should be ready to compete on Monday." The Acapulco's Mexican Open Tournament Director Raul Zurutuza spoke about the event featuring Nadal in 2020: "We are trying to bring some more, we do not know who, we have a couple of interesting possibilities. The tickets sale will start on Monday and hopefully they will all be bought since Nadal will play."
