Australian tennis player James Duckworth didn't hide his excitement after claiming his third Challenger title of the season as he felt "absolutely pumped" after winning it all at the Playford Challenger.
Duckworth, seeded at No. 2, saw off top-seeded Japanese Yasutaka Uchiyama 7-6 (2) 6-4 in just over an hour and a half of play to lift the title in front of his home fans.
The Australian came up big in the first set tie-break, having won six points in a row to overturn a 2-1 deficit and win the opener.
After earning the first break of the match in the ninth game of the second set, Duckworth routinely served out for the match as he realized his first match point.
"It was a tough match but I’m absolutely pumped to get another one,” Duckworth said, per Tennis Australia. “To play on home soil and get the win is extra special."
The 27-year-old Australian won't rest for too much as he is now set to play at this week's Kobe Challenger.
"There’s a few niggles here and there which I think everyone has towards the end of the season but nothing that’s stopping me from competing well," Duckworth said.
