Matteo Berrettini: 'Roger Federer caused me most troubles. Rafael Nadal...'
In an interview Matteo Berrettini was asked which players he would like to face at the ATP Finals in London. The 23-year-old Rome native said: "They are the best seven players in the world, everyone is good for me, just make your choice yourself. The only thing i feel is that I want to compete against them. And I feel I am ready to do it."
Asked who caused him most troubles, Berrettini replied: "Roger Federer, without any doubt. He has so much variety, he always hits a different shot, it's difficult to read. He doesn't make you understand how you can hurt him. Facing him at Wimbledon was a too strong emotion to deal with. If I face him in London, I hope I can learn as much as I did at Wimbledon. I will be ready tactics-wise and in handling the nerves."
On Rafael Nadal, Berrettini added: "He makes you feel his appearance, with his desire to win. It's a fight, a battle, like in the first two sets of the US Open semis. I think I played a great match having my chances. He is a fighter. You need to be determined and not lose too much court coverage. You need to play aggressive. I will be more ready but him too because he knows me better and he will find solution", he concluded.
