Austria's Dominic Thiem reflects on winning Kitzbuhel and Vienna

Austrian tennis superstar Dominic Thiem says making it all the way at a home tournament is more than just winning a title. 

The 26-year-old achieved his big goal of winning it all at the Generali Open and Erste Bank Open 500 finally this year. 

The Austrian beat Spain's Albert Ramos-Vinolas in the Kitzbuhel final, before beating Argentine Diego Schwartzman in the Vienna final a few months later. 

In previous years, the pressure got the best off world No. 4 Thiem at home events as the Austrian was struggling to deliver his best tennis in front of his home fans. 

"There are many things that make a home title very special: the atmosphere, the fans, the family and many close friends. It's amazing for me to share these nice moments with them," Thiem reflected on claiming maiden Kitzbuhel and Vienna titles, as revealed by De Nela/Twitter. 

"On top of that, there are a lot of interviews and appointments off court at home tournaments. But I have improved on this aspect too: I have learned to focus my energy on what’s essential. Overall, the victory in Vienna is the most meaningful."
