Having Rafael Nadal in Davis Cup makes you want to win - Bautista Agut

In an interview with Antena 3, Roberto Bautista Agut spoke about his Davis Cup run which was influenced by his father's death. The Spaniard said: "My wife knew about my father's condition already on Wednesday but she told me about that only after the tie against Croatia. The following day I called the doctor and she told me I was on time to bid him goodbye, so I spoke with the captain and I came back home. After seeing the tie against Argentina on Friday, I saw the passion of the Davis Cup, the crowd support... So I decided to be back to Madrid." On Rafael Nadal's influence, Bautista Agut added: "Having Rafa on the team is very good. Rafa makes you want to win, something special that makes all of us get involved and connects us with the energy he has. The night before (on Saturday) I was in very bad conditions for a normal tournament. I did not have a lot of strength, but I was able to hit the ball."

Barcelona Open's new Tournament Director David Ferrer said he was proud to announce that Rafael Nadal will be back to play the Spanish event in 2020. Ferrer said: "Rafa's appearance is very important for the tournament and this time it will be even more because he will play to win the title he won in 2019. I am proudly announcing this news, not just from a sports point of view, but for many other reasons that make Rafa an amazing sportsman with values that make him a role model to look up to."
