Juan Sebastian Cabal e Robert Farah win Colombian team athletes of year award
Doubles specialists Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah have been named the Colombian team athletes of the year, per ESPN Tenis.
Cabal, 33, and 32-year-old Farah finished the 2019 season as the No. 1 ranked team on the rankings list.
The Colombians were absolutely phenomenal this past season, having made seven finals.
Cabal and Farah fulfilled their long-awaited dream of winning a Grand Slam title as they won back-to-back Major titles at Wimbledon and the US Open.
Cabal and Farah also made it all the way at the Rome Masters, Barcelona Open and Eastbourne.
The Colombians lost two finals this year as they ended runners-up at the Cincinnati Masters and Sydney.
Cabal and Farah also made semifinals on three different occasions as they also had deep runs at the French Open, Nitto ATP Finals and Rio Open.
Cabal and Farah were eager to finish their outstanding season with a maiden ATP Finals title but failed to do so.
Despite winning only one and losing two Round Robin matches at The O2 Arena, the Colombians managed to make the semifinal.
Cabal and Farah were on the verge of making the final but they blew two match points in their semifinal clash against Raven Klaasen and Michael Venus.
