Rafael Nadal's uncle Toni is the best coach in the world, says Lisnard
In an interview to We Love Tennis Jean Lisnard, founder of the Academy where Daniil Medvedev trains in Nice, criticized the next generation of players. Lisnard said: "I will be tough. The current generation is not passionate enough, they did not totally fell in love with what they do. They do not care about details. They also want to win quickly in order to earn more. It's true that they are better athletes, they stronger than our times, but it's not just thank to them. Everything changed in terms of physical training and rackets. I remember that back in the day, before his final in Adelaide, Patrick Rafter was training on the slice backhand side against two players, old style, easy, giving the best out of himself. We do not see it anymore. But it's also about knowledge. The other day I made a quiz and nobody knew who David Nalbandian or Marcelo Rios were. I am not attracted by the tour."
Lisnard also praised Rafael Nadal's uncle Toni: "He is the best coach in the world. He is much more above the others. What he managed to do with his nephew is amazing. That's an example because there is a lot of humility involved. Rafael Nadal stands out but Toni coached him since when he was younger. We should not forget it. A good coach is the one who manages to get the best out of the player."
