Sania Mirza to partner with Nadiia Kichenok for Australian Circuit

Former World No. 1 Sania Mirza will partner with Ukraine's Nadiia Kichenok when she returns to the doubles circuit in January after a two-year break. Mirza is returning from giving birth to her first child and is expected to make her comeback on the Australian circuit - playing at the Hobart and Brisbane events followed by the Australian Open Grand Slam tournament in Melbourne.

Mirza had earlier said, "I started training earlier this month and would be ready in time for the Australian Open. I have not played professional tennis for nearly two years so I'm looking for a good comeback."

She has also reached the finals in six more tournaments on the WTA Tour.

Mirza, who is now unranked due to her inactivity, has won 41 career doubles titles in her career so far. She has won 3 Grand Slam titles in women's doubles and 3 Grand Slam titles in the mixed doubles so far in her career. She has said that her big aim was to play in the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 and perhaps aim for a medal there.
