Ash Barty rally accelerates: 'probably the sharpest match I played'

It has been another easy triumph for the World No. 1 Ash Barty on Friday (January 24th) against the 20-year-old Kazakh-Russ Elena Rybakina who even had botched to put a scratch on the match, nonetheless, despite a convincing win for the 23-year-old Ipswich iron-willed, Ash Barty, probably the best hope for the home fans, expectations appeared to be winding low.

In factuality, the 23-year-old First Seed seemed to be on a roll while she had made a whacking beginning of the tournament on last Monday, while another feathery win on straight sets (6-3, 6-2) on Friday should have been upped the antes, but optimisms were running low ahead of her fourth round match against the 29-year-old 18th Seeded American Alison Riske, as the 23-year-old Aussie ausidous said in a post-match interview on Friday, “I felt like I could put the ball where I wanted to more often than not………..felt like it was cleaner than the other matches ……felt really comfortable moving around the court. I felt like I found the middle of the racquet a lot sooner. I’m loving every minute. Trying to do the best I can. That’s all I can ask of myself.”
