Caroline Wozniacki wishes to be remembered as a lively assiduous after retirement
On Friday, the 24th of January 2020, as the dazzling Danish, Caroline Wozniacki, well-loved by her peers including some of her greatest rivals likes of Serena Williams, walks away from tennis following her third-round defeat in ’20 AO against the 28th Seed, Tunisian dark-horse, Ons Jabeur 5-7, 6-3, 5-7, the glittering 29-year-old glam said she wished to be remembered as a hard-worker who never forgot to turn her locker room in to a friendlier place.
As a matter of fact, as Friday’s (January 24th) loss of Wozniacki had curtained an incredible career for one of the greatest athletes of Denmark, the 29-year-old danced around the Melbourne Arena with a country flag waving on her shoulders.
The unwavering Danish gem spent roughly 71 weeks at the top of the rankings and ended her career with 30 singles’ titles.
Meanwhile, Wozniacki, who said later last year would put an end to her long and ravishing career after the 2020 Australian Open, said in a post-match interview on Friday, “I had a dream when I was a kid. I wanted to win a Grand Slam. I wanted to be number one in the world. People thought that I was crazy being from a small country. But I made it happen. I worked so hard for it every single day. I hope that I’ll give inspiration even to the players from small countries that may have never had a world number one or a Grand Slam champion ... that they can do it. I hope that I’ll leave some happiness around the locker room. Everyone wants to be the best. I hope that I gave some excitement and release and some happiness in the locker room with the chats and the fun talks we’ve had.”
