Roger Federer Picks Andrey Rublev to Have a Great Season in 2020

Roger Federer has picked Russian youngster Andrey Rublev to achieve big things in 2020. The 38-year-old Swiss tennis legend was asked by Tennis TV who would be among the players to watch in 2020 and Federer responded, "I think that Rublev is going to be something special. He played great against me in Cincinnati, he impressed me a lot there."

Rublev had defeated Federer 6-3, 6-4 in the third round of the Cincinnati Masters in August in a big upset win over the Swiss star. He also won the Kremlin Cup in Moscow on his 22nd birthday, which helped him rise to his current position of No. 23 in the ATP rankings.

There were several others who were also picked to achieve big things in 2020 by other players. Australian youngster Alex de Minaur was picked by Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut to impress in 2020, 18-year-old rising Italian youngster Jannik Sinner, who has impressed many with his rise in 2019, was picked by Alexander Zverev, Matteo Berrettini and Stan Wawrinka; Canadian youngster Denis Shapovalov was picked by Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev while another Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime was backed by Matteo Berrettini and Stefanos Tsitsipas.
