Dominic Thiem and Grigor Dimitrov team up for doubles in Indian Wells

World No. 4 Dominic Thiem and 2017 Nitto ATP Finals champion Grigor Dimitrov  have signed up to play doubles together at the Indian Wells Masters.

Thiem, 26, and 28-year-old Dimitrov are set to debut as a pair as they have no past team appearances.

Both Thiem and Dimitrov rarely play doubles but they will team up to play doubles at the opening Masters event of the season.

Dimitrov has played doubles in two tournaments so far this season, while Thiem will make his first doubles appearance of the year in Indian Wells.

However, Thiem and Dimitrov won't be the lone star duo in the desert.

World No. 7 Alexander Zverev and three-time-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka have also entered the Indian Wells doubles event.

Zverev, 22, and 34-year-old Wawrinka also don't have past team appearances as they are set for a team debut in the desert.

Zverev and Wawrinka also don't play doubles very often.

Zverev is playing doubles for the first time in 2020 this week in Acapulco with his brother Mischa Zverev.

On the other side, Wawrinka's lone doubles appearance of this year came in Doha.
