Felix Auger-Aliassime extremely satisfied with performance against Grigor Dimitrov
Rising Canadian star Felix Auger-Aliassime couldn't be more satisfied with his Rotterdam round-of-16 performance against world No. 22 Grigor Dimitrov.
Auger-Aliassime, ranked at No. 21 in the world, delivered a big performance to saw off 2018 Rotterdam runner-up Dimitrov in straight sets 6-4 6-2.
"It was for sure the best match I’ve played so far this year. It was so complete from start to finish,” Auger-Aliassime said after the match, per the ATP Tour. “It was an almost perfect match. To dictate most of the points, serve well and return well, I’m very happy.”
Auger-Aliassime, 19, blew the break he earned in the fifth game of the match but made no mistake on his serve in rest of the first set after claiming his second break in the seventh game
The 19-year-old broke Dimitrov twice in the second set and never lost his serve to seal a straight-set win in an hour and 17 minutes of play.
The Canadian now awaits the winner of the match between No. 2 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas and Slovenian Aljaz Bedene.
