Jeanne Evert Dubin, the younger sister of Chris Evert, Passes Away

Jeanne Evert Dubin, the younger sister of former World no. 1 and 18-time Grand Slam champion Chris Evert, has passed away at the age of 62 in Florida after a lengthy illness, according to Tennis Threads website.

Jeanne was ranked as high as No. 42 in the world in 1975 and No. 9 within the United States alone in 1974. She reached the third round of the U.S. Open in 1973 and 1978. She won all 4 of her Fed Cup matches for the U.S. in 1974.

She retired in 1978 and had been working as a coach at the Delray Beach Tennis Center since 2002. Jeanne married Canadian Brahm Dubin in 1979, an accountant who had also worked in the tennis business. The couple had 2 children, Eric and Catherine, and later 4 grand children.

Dubin, a kidney transplant survivor, died of lung cancer in 2006 at the age of 56.
