World No. 2 Rafael Nadal insisted he absolutely enjoyed The Match in Africa as he described it as a "lifetime experience" after playing against Swiss Roger Federer in front of 51,954 people.
Nadal, a 19-time Grand Slam champion, fell short of completing a comeback against Federer as the Swiss beat him 6-4 3-6 6-3 in a charity match in Cape Town, which raised $3.5 million.
The match broke the record for the largest tennis crowd ever and Federer's wish to finally play in South Africa -- the country in which his mother was born -- was also granted.
"I don’t think we can describe our feelings. It has been a lifetime experience playing in front of such an amazing crowd in an amazing stadium," Nadal said after the match, per Metro UK. '‘It is not my first time playing in South Africa, I played here when I was a kid. But it is my first time as a professional player.
"I want to say well done to Roger and all of his family. The organisation of this event has been just fantastic. It has been a big pleasure to be a part of it."
