Srdjan Djokovic saw no problems in the way the Serbian fans supported his son Novak and the whole Serbian team in the ATP Cup final against Spain.
After losing the final, 19-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal called out the Serbian fans as he believed they lacked respect.
"The crowd was fantastic every single day but sometimes people from some countries they probably don't understand how the tennis goes," Nadal said.
“They think it's about football. Atmosphere in tennis is different.
"The respect of the players should be there and at some point the respect from [a] small part of the crowd was not there."
However, Srdjan Djokovic thinks Nadal was a bit mad that the crowd wasn't on his side like it's usually the case when he plays against his son.
"That happens to Novak across the world but he never complains. In Sydney, our great players won the ATP Cup and there were lots of our fans (from the Serbian community in Sydney). So for example, Nadal couldn't as a sportsman take that the crowd supported Novak -- and Novak has been dealing with that across the world for the past 15 years but he never complains," Srdjan Djokovic told Telegraf.
