Gael Monfils reflects on making fourth Montpellier final

French tennis star Gael Monfils says it has been a great week so far for him in Montpellier and he hopes to deliver a big performance in Sunday's final.

Monfils, seeded at No. 1, saw off seventh- seeded Filip Krajinovic in straight sets 7-6 (4) 6-2 to reach his fourth final in Montpellier.

After winning a tight first set, the Frenchman dominated the second set as he broke Krajinovic twice to set up final against former world No. 25 Vasek Pospisil.

"It was a great win today. I was very solid. I think Filip played great in the first set and then I changed my game a little bit to be more aggressive and it worked,” Monfils said, per the ATP Tour. “I was pleased with my performance. So far [it has been] a great week. Hopefully tomorrow is going to be the same.”

Monfils, ranked at No. 9 in the world, will be aiming to win his third Montpellier title when he meets Pospisil.

The 33-year-old Frenchman claimed Montpellier titles in 2010 and 2014, while he ended runner-up at the event in 2012.
