WTA St. Petersburg 2020 prize pools Kvitova or Bertens could shelve
As the WTA of St. Petersburg 2020 has been less than 48 hours away from a kickstart, the dazzling Dutch, the 10th seed, Kiki Bertens would be leading the seededs seeding at 10th and the charismatic Czech, Petra Kvitova ranked as world’s No. 13 would follow alongside the 16th seed 20-year-old Czeck Marketa Vondrousova. Nonetheless, no Italian players would be appearing in the Russian indoor WTA tournament scheduled to take place between February 10th and February 16th.
Although this year’s WTA St. Petersburg tournament had lost much of its charm due to the absence of the Russian glittering gem Maria Sharapova due to a shoulder injury which had also turned her down at her opening match in ’20 AO, but presence of potential successor of Sharapova’s legacy such as former Jr. No. 1, 18-year-old Saratov-lush, Anastasia Potapova alongside Kvitova and Bertens has been signalling a sparkling seven days of tennis in the indoor courts of St. Petersburg.
Top seeded sedulous spesh likes of Bertens, Kvitova or Vondrousova could shelve a winning prize money of €133,844 and the title would also proffer 250 points in the WTA ranking, while the runner-up would receive €71,352 alongside 150 points to add at her WTA tally.
Besides, the semi-finalist would be awarded with €38,045 and 90 points in the WTA ranking and the quarter finalists would gain €20,451 and 45 points.
On top of that, the first and second round would come up with a coffer pool of €5,980 alongside €10,956 respectively, while the 2020 St. Petersburg WTA will have a total prize pool of €714,795, just a notch shy of 1 per cent lower than that of 2019 edition.
