Damir Dzumhur: We don't really see point in resuming season in August

Bosnian tennis star Damir Dzumhur doubts the grass season will be played this season.

On March 12, the ATP suspended the Tour for six weeks due to the coronavirus outbreak.

As it was becoming clear there would be no way to resume the season in April, the ATP extended the Tour suspension through to June 7.

On June 8, the grass season is scheduled to start and no further announcement have been made on potential delays.

The ATP took radical measures when they called off the whole clay season but the belief is that the Tour suspension will once again get extended.

"Talking with the other players we highly doubt the season will resume at the beginning of June. With the way things are going the suspension will likely get extended. The whole season may get cancelled -- as for example -- we don't really see a point in resuming the season in August," Dzumhur told Fena, as revealed on Klix.

Meanwhile, the former world No. 23 Dzumhur is spending his time during the break in Belgrade.

Dzumhur, now ranked at No. 107 in the world, does a lot of exercising in the house as he is giving his best effort to stay in shape as much as possible.

During his interview, Dzumhur claimed he is trying his best to be responsible in these difficult times.

The Bosnian also urged others to be responsible during the coronavirus pandemic and to stay at home.

Dzumhur, a three-time ATP champion, went 2-5 at the ATP level in 2020 before the suspension.
