Grigor Dimitrov makes donation, wants to take online course at Harvard University
Bulgarian tennis star Grigor Dimitrov has showed in these difficult that he hasn't forgotten from where he has come.
Dimitrov, who was born in Haskovo, helped the hospital in his birthplace with a donation.
As the coronavirus pandemic remains a huge problem worldwide, the Bulgarian used his position to help Haskovo -- which has a population of just over 184,000 residents.
Three weeks ago, the Indian Wells Masters got cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
It became the major United States sporting event to get called off due to the coronavirus.
A couple of days later, the Miami Masters also got cancelled and the ATP initially suspended the Tour for six weeks.
After the Masters events in Indian Wells and Miami got called off, most of the players left the United States and headed back to their countries.
But world No. 19 Dimitrov didn't want to head back to Europe and instead stayed in California.
Last week, the ATP extended the Tour suspension through to June 7 due to the coronavirus outbreak.
But even now there isn't much belief that the season will indeed resume at the beginning of June as most players expect the grass season to also get cancelled.
However, Dimitrov is staying ready as he has been on the practice court almost every day.
Former world No. 3 Dimitrov also wants to use this break to take an online court at the Harvard University.
