John Millman: It is hard to see all this happening
Australian tennis star John Millman says it's hard seeing the affects that the coronavirus is having over the world.
On March, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic.
Two days before, the Indian Wells Masters got cancelled because of the coronavirus outbreak.
The Indian Wells Masters became the first major United States sporting event to get cancelled over the coronavirus concerns.
A couple of days later, the Miami Masters got cancelled and the ATP suspended the Tour for six weeks.
As it was becoming more obvious the season wouldn't resume on April 27, the ATP extended the suspension through to June 7.
On June 8, the grass season is scheduled to start, with events in Stuttgart and 's-Hertogenbosch taking place.
Many people across the world have lost their jobs or their jobs have been affected in some ways by the coronavirus outbreak.
"Really hard seeing the affects COVID is having over the world. Everyone doing it tough," Millman said in a Twitter post.
"Obviously tennis community in Australia is close to my heart. Hope our federation can help out our community. Especially coaches, club reps and some players who still are financially burdened."
Meanwhile, even now there is not much optimism about the season resumption on June 8.
The AELTC has revealed they are planning to hold an emergency board meeting next week.
The Championships is scheduled to take place at The All England Club from June 29 - July 12.
As of now, the plan is to hold Wimbledon as scheduled but the postponement or cancellation of The Championships is an option.
