Dominic Thiem: I won't change my mind, some players I don't want to support

World No. 3 Dominic Thiem says he won't change his mind despite the public pressure and admits simply there are players he doesn't want to support. 

Over the weekend, Thiem said he wouldn't donate $30,000 to player relief fund and added that most lower-ranked players aren't fighting enough. 

Thiem's comments drew attention and criticism from mostly lower-ranked players but the Austrian says he stands by his comments. 

"There are many things that bother me. I won't change my mind. There are some players I do not want to support," Thiem said. "However, some things that I said came across too harsh."

"It's a fact, not only in these current times: There are always people, organisations and animals, who need support more than probably every single sports person."

Thiem mentions, that the rankings consist of 2.000 players. Some of them are non professionals. Says, he is fine with supporting up and coming players.

Suggests, that players should be able to choose directly, which players to support. He would choose some "who would really profit, need it most, and deserve the support".
