Dominic Thiem: I won't forget how to play tennis

World No. 3 Dominic Thiem says players will be notified in time about the date of the Tour resumption.

The season has been suspended for a month now and there won't be any events taking place until at least July 13.

Initially, the ATP suspended the Tour for only six weeks but extended the Tour suspension through to June 7 when it became clear there would be no way to resume the season in April.

Players weren't too optimistic about the season resuming in June either and the Tour suspension was extended until at least July 13.

"We will certainly find out a month and a half before when will the tournaments continue. I won't forget how to play tennis," Thiem told ORF Sport.

Thiem, 26, appeared in only three events this year before the Tour was suspended.

The Austrian started his season at the inaugural ATP Cup but didn't enjoy much success as his side failed to make it past the group stage at the event.

Thiem didn't play particularly well at the ATP Cup as he was beaten in two of his three matches played at the event.

But the Austrian performed much better at Melbourne Park and he ended up making his maiden Australian Open final.

The 26-year-old fell just short of winning his maiden Grand Slam title at Melbourne Park as world No. 1 Novak Djokovic won the final in five sets.

In his last tournament played, Thiem was surprisingly beaten by Gianluca Mager in the Rio de Janeiro quarterfinal.
