Stefanos Tsitsipas speaks on his desire to win Grand Slam

Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas, 21, claims he is working hard to become a Grand Slam champion as soon as possible.

Tsitsipas, ranked at No. 6 in the world, made his maiden Grand Slam semifinal at the Australian Open last year.

The Greek absolutely earned a place in the last-4 at Melbourne Park as his campaign included a shock round-of-16 win over record 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer.

The 21-year-old then beat Roberto Bautista Agut in the quarterfinal but stood no chance against world No. 2 Rafael Nadal in his following clash.

"I believe in my work. I'm working to win a Grand Slam title as soon as possible," Tsitsipas said on Instagram Live, as revealed by Jose Morgado.

After a strong campaign at the Australian Open, Tsitsipas was aiming to lift his maiden Grand Slam title before the end of 2019.

Disappointingly for the Greek, he failed to live up to his expectations.

Tsitsipas made the French Open round-of-16 in his next Grand Slam event, before he shockingly picked up back-to-back first round exits at Wimbledon and the US Open.

Tsitsipas' run of poor results at the Grand Slam continued at this year's Australian Open, where he exited the event in the third round after a straight-set loss suffered against Milos Raonic.

"I haven't been able to prove that in the last couple of Grand Slams, but it's a goal that I want to achieve," 2019 Nitto ATP Finals champion Tsitsipas added.
