Tara Moore, Allie Kiick blast Dominic Thiem for lower-ranked players claim
World No. 441 Tara Moore thinks Dominic Thiem disrespected lower-ranked players when he said most of them aren't fighting enough.
It doesn't appear that world No. 3 Thiem is interested in supporting Novak Djokovic's initiative and handing out $30,000 to support player relief fund.
Dominic Thiem on a relief fund for lower-ranked players: "None of the lower-ranked players have to fight for their lives. I've seen players on the ITF-Tour who don't commit to the sport 100 %. Many of them are quite unprofessional. I don't see, why I should give them money."

"I'd rather donate to people & institutions, who really need it. There is no profession in the world, where you are guaranteed success and high income at the start of your career. None of the top players took anything for granted. We all had to fight our way up the rankings."

Unfortunately, this is what some of the higher ranked players think. Sadly a lot of lower ranked players are “people really in need now” some are unable to even buy food or get medical help. They have essentially lost their job too and if he would want a sport -> 1/2

To come back to then he would understand the desperation. There’s possibly a future grand slam champion ranked outside 500 who is not coming back from this crisis. There’s players who’s family members are sick and their only income is tennis (coaching, club matches) 2/2

No he can choose if and who he’d like to help, but to say that lower ranked players are not fighting is disrespectful. He has no right to judge other people’s work ethic, unless he knows them personally and walked besides them.

American world No. 160 Allie Kiick joined Moore as she also blasted Thiem, saying the Austrian "absolutely has no idea what he is talking about."
Clearly he has absolutely no idea what he is talking about. I’ve never seen more harder working people in my life than ones at lower money tournaments. You have players grinding week to week, living off their minimal paycheck hoping to just “make it”.
